The Training and Certification Division of Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Aruba Educational Services (AES) is the training and certification wing of Aruba Networks which was acquired by Hewlett-Packard Enterprise making it a part of the HP umbrella. As we see more of a unification of wired and wireless networks designs, HP has been hard at work to creating courses aimed at helping Wi-Fi professionals easily transition between wired and wireless platforms.

Aruba Educational Services is focused on building the technical competences of its partners and wireless professionals in the areas of networking, operating systems, software-defined infrastructure, and cloud servers and storage.

Kimberly Graves, Senior Course and Exam Developer at Aruba Educational Services (AES) spoke briefly with Keith Parson on our WLAN Professional Podcast Episode 127 on a few paths that can be undertaken by network engineers who are looking to enhance their capabilities in mobility and network design.

Introductory Level Courses and Certification

As Wi-Fi professionals, it is important to continually learn new things and to look for ways to constantly build your core competencies. If you would like to become a partner for Aruba or are looking to transition from Cisco to Aruba Networks, one of the recommended paths would be to first take the introductory level course, Implementing Aruba WLAN (IAW) and then completing the core certification exam, Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP).

Unifying Wired and Wireless Training

Aruba Educational Services (AES) understand the gaps faced by Wi-Fi professional and Aruba Partners who might lack competencies in either wired or wireless network design. As HP acquires new technologies, it has to ensure that its partners are equipped with the knowledge and skill sets to be able to provide holistic solutions to clients. To gauge the gap between the wired and wireless network design of its partners, Aruba Educational Services, has a strong focus on building a whole new track of unified network courses that will combine the skills required to design both wired and wireless networks from scratch.

The certification would be aligned with being an Aruba Certified Design Professional, which would validate the technical expertise of the individual in network design. It has always been an expectation that someone coming into wireless is already familiar with wired networking but that isn’t always the case. This program will be teaching the skills needed from the ground up and designing from the ground up.

Expert Level Courses and Certification

As you continue to build your competencies, you have the opportunity to start looking at areas of specialization in network design.

IT Professionals have the opportunity to gain expert qualifications with Aruba Educational Services through their Aruba Certified ClearPass Expert (ACCX) certification, Aruba Certified Design Expert, and Aruba Certified Mobility Expert. These certifications test and validate the competency and mastery of the different networking paths that can be undertaken by networking professionals.

IT professionals are able to position themselves as experts with Aruba Controllers, Access Points, and Aruba AirWave product lines. All these professional level certifications lead to the Aruba Certified Professional programs.
