Wireless Tech Field Day #5
Yes – it is that time of year once again where a bunch of techie delegates get in a room with Wireless LAN Vendors and have a little ‘dance’. The vendors are showing off their latest and greatest wares – and delegates are trying to learn as much as possible – and yet still keep a wary eye toward any technical sleight of hand.
This session will be filled with some great companies – some are returning to #WFD5 after presenting at previous sessions – but we’ll also have some first time presenters.
I’ve personally watched every session from every field day – the first couple via live streaming video, and the last two as an on-site delegate. I can tell you there is some fun being in the room live with the presenters and hanging with the other delegates – but what you can glean from the presentations is exactly the same either way.
Obviously, not all can be in the room during the presentations. But as a remote-viewing delegate, you can also be involved. Follow along live – send your own Tweets with the #WFD5 hashtag – and send in your questions and any/all of the delegates will willingly pass those on to the presenters.
(OK, sometimes we might tone down the question to make it a bit more polite… at times there is some minor Vendor on Vendor Violence going on in the Twittersphere – but we’ll keep the in-session questions polite and to the point)
Block off the times in your calendar right now – so you’ll be freed up and ready for these sessions next week. These times are in Pacific Daylight Time – address your time differences accordingly.

Yes – these sessions will all be recorded for later asynchronous viewing… but part of the enjoyment of Wireless Tech Field Day is being part of the live audience, sharing in the experience via Twitter, emails, and blog posting. You too can be part of this experience if you wish.
Further details about the delegates – and how you can contact them via their Twitter handles or via their blogs can be found here.
Links to all the vendors at #WFD5, as well as where you’ll be able to link to the live video streams all will be at the above URL.
From one Wireless LAN Professional to another, I look forward to sharing this live experience with you, my friends and colleagues.
